Heineken NV in its January 2011 acquisition of two holding companies from Sona Group have acquired controlling interests in Champion Breweries. Henieken NV is exploring the possibility of consolidating the newly acquired Champion breweries into its existing business structure in Nigeria and is currently in discussion with Consolidated Breweries regarding the potential acquisition.
